Mike Smith

Mike Smith was raised in Costa Mesa, California.  At an early age he was interested in Music and involved in scouting.  He graduated from Estancia High School and Orange Coast College.  After Orange Coast College, he spent one semester at California State University, Fullerton before transferring to the University of Redlands, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Music.   While still in high school (and long before personal computers even existed) Mr. Smith developed a keen interest in computers and programming.  This interest developed into his life-long vocation in which he was very successful.   His professional career includes various positions in the IT industry working at Orange Coast College, Collins Foods, TRW (Credit Data), Great Western Bank (which later became Washington Mutual) and finally IBM.   Along the way Mr. Smith trained as a river rafting guide and Emergency Medical Technical and volunteered with the American Red Cross  as an instructor and emergency medical responder in association with both the Los Angeles and Pasadena Fire Departments.   Additional – and more current interests – include local travel, cooking and woodworking.
